One of the new capabilities for Messages included in iOS 18, which Apple presented at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, is using all your emoji to respond to messages.
Apple’s response function, Tapback, enables you respond to a message in one of six ways: a heart, thumbs up or down, a “Haha,” exclamation points, or a question mark. Seeing someone respond to their message with one of these might confuse or annoy others.
Fortunately, you can respond to texts with whatever emoji you like right now; you don’t have to wait until iOS 18 is released this autumn to do so. Your iPhone’s particular messages may be responded to using an emoji as follows.

How to respond with emoji
1. In the relevant iMessage chat, touch the empty iMessage bar at the bottom of your screen as if you were about to input anything.
2. On your screen’s bottom left corner, tap the smiley symbol to access the emoji keyboard.
3. Long press on the emoji you want to use.
4. Release the emoji by dragging it to the message.
Now, instead of giving anything a thumbs-up or an exclamation point reply, you may offer the raised hands emoji, the eyes emoji or even both. You may respond to texts, photos, and gifs delivered in discussions between you and another person using many emojis, or in group messaging as well.
This function also lets you mix emojis. This requires stacking emoji over a sticker in iMessage. Here is how to design your own emoji combinations.
For amusing combinations, layer emoji over stickers.

Simply a skier descending a mountain.
1. In the relevant iMessage thread, press the plus symbol (+) next to the empty iMessage bar at the bottom of your display.
2. Select Stickers.
3. Tap and email your selected sticker.
4. Follow the preceding instructions for applying emoji responses by tapping the empty iMessage bar once again.
Each sticker allows you to add as many emojis as you want, so if you choose, you might enjoy and create little scenarios. You cannot save these mixed emojis; so, every time you must rebuild them. Apple will, therefore, one day allow individuals to keep them.
